We love Guyanese Hindu weddings. They are like an Indian Hindu wedding with few differences. The traditional Guyanese Hindu wedding best portrays the cultural phenomena which resulted from the Indian diaspora by ways of British colonialism during the height of the 19th century. Let’s look at Guyanese Hindu couple Chandra and Taresh’s rock star wedding. Their beautiful, vibrant ceremony and reception took place over an eventful two days at Golden Terrace, located in Richmond Hill, New York.
Guyanese Hindu weddings usually contain many sentimental ceremonies which are very involved emotionally and physically. It takes a village to raise a child and that rings true to their wedding day as well with almost every family member playing an important role during the ceremony. This was thoroughly reviewed with each family, the pundit and the couple where we ensured that each family’s traditions were met and experienced throughout the wedding ceremony.
No detail was too small or too large and we made sure they were all accounted for. The nuances of each Hindu family as seen through their values, traditions, rites, practices, food and style are most importantly and probably only apparent at a Hindu wedding. Chandra and Taresh wanted to make sure that each moment was recorded. We were able to obtain complete photography coverage during the two day lavish Guyanese Hindu wedding with almost 17 hours with Studio Fifty from Port Jefferson.
For the Hindu ceremony, Chandra chose a memorable crystal mandap adorned with yellow draping which reflected her bright personality. Her first attire was a beautiful and unique color combination of a yellow lengha accented with purple and pink embellishments. She met her groom in her second attire of red with white crystal facets which romantically contrasted against the yellow draping of the mandap.
Chandra and Taresh’s wedding reception was a sophisticated affair with the black and eggplant purple color scheme. The stage set up for the head table was draped in white for a soft romantic touch. Styling this wedding with Stylish Events was certainly a pleasure and unforgettable.
